For the past 12 months, the Salisbury Jaycees have made a difference in the lives of thousands in the Wicomico County community and beyond. Here’s a look back at some of the projects and events that helped make 2014 a great year to be a Jaycee.
Think today’s kids aren’t interested in reading? Think again! In March, the Jaycees and the Eastern Shore Reading Council distributed books to children who attended the chapter’s seventh annual Read Across America event at the Wicomico County Public Library. Local celebrities joined Saul the Jaycee Bear and the Cat in the Hat to present a morning of reading and fun, setting a new attendance record for the event.
It’s the event whose name everyone loves to say! The Jaycees once again partnered with Wicomico County Recreation, Parks and Tourism to help serve beer during the 11th installment of this annual event raised thousands of dollars for the chapter.
The chapter’s seventh annual Somerset County bike ride continued its reign as one of the chapter’s biggest fundraisers, raising some $2,000.
